Chickpeas Curry

Fry one chopped small white onion in oil for 10 minutes on medium-high heat.

Turn down the heat to medium-low and mix in:

  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon achar
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 can chickpeas

Turn heat up to medium-high and mix in:

  • 1 bunch of chopped, fresh coriander
  • 1/2 can of tomato paste

Let cook for 5 minutes, then turn down to medium heat and mix in:

  • 2 tablespoons madrasi curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • salt to taste
